What is WWPCC

The World Wide Prostate Cancer Coalition, Inc. ("WWPCC") is a coalition of prostate cancer interest groups from around the world that seeks to share information, ideas, visions and dreams to minimize the impact of prostate diseases, especially prostate cancer, in the global community. The group, which is a confederation of patient and professional organizations, will also serve interested organizations from around the world in helping to fulfill their objectives of patient support. The Applicant Organization will provide an environment and repository where interested organizations can access and share relevant information.

The WWPCC's activities will focus on global regional areas wherein disproportionately high rates of prostate cancer incidence or mortality exist and/or wherein population groups exhibiting disparate disease impact rates are present. These activities will be timed to be consistent with locally present disease awareness periods, e.g. Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Men's Health Week, etc.

The WWPCC intends that the initial funding for its activities will come from educational grants and sponsorship programs from pharmaceutical manufacturer support of community education and awareness functions, sponsorships from non-healthcare corporations that have an emphasis on healthy communities, grants from foundations with priorities on disease specific activities and contracts/grants with governmental agencies supporting community outreach and/or patient research initiatives.

The Members (defined below) of the WWPCC shall be those organizations that support the mission and purposes of the WWPCC and who provide financial or other contributions to the Corporation. Organizations will be invited to become members by the WWPCC, with such organizations being determined by a majority vote of the Founding Organization Members (defined below), or in any other way as the Board shall determine through corporate resolution. Following invitation, the Board may require such organization to complete an application for membership, which shall be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the WWPCC, in its sole discretion.

Membership will be limited to those organizations engaged in educational, disease interventional, patient advocacy/support and/or research activities focused on the areas of prostate cancer, prostate disease and/or men's health.

Membership will be open to all qualifying organizations without regard to geographic, political or national origin.
